Anti-Racism Work

Anti-racism work was first mandated by the General Synod of 2001. A working group was established with a mandate to develop policy and education/training. By 2004, the training module was completed, and the Charter for Racial Justice was approved as a working document. Between 2004 and 2007, anti-racism training was provided to the Council of General Synod and to most of the Council’s standing committees and boards. The Charter for Racial Justice, after some revision, was approved as the official anti-racism statement of the General Synod of the Anglican Church of Canada in 2007.
