St. Michael’s Retreat Centre
“St. Michael's Retreat was established in 1963, is owned and operated
by the Franciscan Friars of Western Canada and operates through an interchurch
board. It overlooks the beautiful Qu'Appelle valley, about 30 kms NW of
Saskatchewan's capital city, Regina. We offer a variety of retreats and programs
designed to lead men and women, young and old, into a deeper relationship with
God. We also host a number of other groups of all faiths and occupations for
seminars, workshops, etc. Our warm hospitality and excellent cuisine have become
legendary. Eight Franciscan Friars and a dedicated staff of lay persons from
the nearby town of Lumsden provide a year-round haven for a variety of retreatants
in an environment of peace, quiet and prayer, away from the "busy-ness" of
our modern secular world. “Today's realities call us to a vision beyond
our own purely Catholic traditions. To that end, we now collaborate
with representatives of the Catholic Archdiocese, the Anglican and Lutheran communities,
and have formed an Ecumenical Board of Directors, which oversees the whole
operation of the Retreat Centre.” Website includes listing of current
events.
