Sichuan rebuilds

For your interest from The Amity Foundation office in Hong Kong.

The following slides depict people one year after the massive Sichuan earthquake in May 2008. The Amity Foundation is the separately incorporated development and relief agency of the China Christian Council/Three Self Patriotic Movement,
with a liaison office in Hong Kong.

Partnerships has funded the liaison office in the past with a small grant for administrative overhead. I have met with and visited Amity national staff on a number of occasions. These meetings have been informative, collegial and active.

Though our program/budget links with the CCC/TSPM and Amity are not as strong as with other partners, the Anglican Church of Canada has for many years enjoyed friendly ecumenical relations with official Protestant church institutions
and personnel. ACC, UCC and PCC staff try to work as ecumenically as possible with Chinese church partners.

PWRDF did respond with funds to the ACT Sichuan Earthquake appeal.
