The Rev. Dr. Dennis Berk is a former priest of the Anglican Church of Canada. He was placed in Zambia through the Domestic and Foreign Missionary Society of the Episcopal Church in the USA. He is a full time instructor of theology at the Anglican Seminary of St. John the Evangelist.

Father John Blyth, from the Diocese of New Westminster, was a VIM for four years and is now a Melanesian Brother, taking 3 year vows in October 1999 and 2002. Please keep John in your prayers as he renewed his vows and returned to the Diocese of New Westminster in late 2005. He remains a Melanesian Brother and lives in Vancouver.

Mr. Stanley Isherwood is a retired priest from in the Diocese of Toronto.  He departed Canada on the 28th of August  and was installed as priest at St. Joseph’s Anglican Church, Punta Gorda in the Diocese of Belize on September 7th.  He ministered with the people of St. Joseph’s for 16 months.

The Rev. Tessie Meadows is a vocational deacon in the parish of St. John the Evangelist, North Vancouver, in the Diocese of New Westminster. Tess is deacon at St. Joseph’s Anglican Church in Punta Gorda Town in Belize, Central America. Tess left Canada for her two year placement in November 2003.

Bruce and Gerry Melville

Bruce and Gerry Melville are from the Parish of St. John the Divine in Victoria, BC, Diocese of British Columbia. They arrived in Tanzania on the last day of August, 2007, to begin a year's placement as teachers at Canon Andrea Mwaka School.

CAMS is a Christian School in Dodoma, Tanzania. Students come from a range of ethnic and religous backgrounds. The school delivers the British Curriculum, teaching in English.

Bruce and Gerry extended their stay in Dodoma and returned to BC at Christmas time, 2008.

Ms. Newell is a parishioner

at St. Matthews Parish, Hampstead, in the Diocese of Montreal.  She taught English at St. Thomas’ College in Gurutalawa in the Diocese of Colombo, Church of Ceylon.  She is now on her way home to Canada and her final letter from Sri Lanka is linked below, "End of Term".

Our Lutheran Partner

Margaret Sadler is the former ecumenical partner on the Partners In Mission Committee. She and her husband, Marcus, served for one year with the Lutheran World Federation in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, and included us in her letters home. They returned to Canada at the end of August 2008.

Mrs. Simfukwe is from the Diocese of Eastern Newfoundland and Labrador.  Joanne is our first VIM from Newfoundland.  Joanne and Jacob returned to Canada in January 2008.
