Reduce your carbon footprint and contribute to Anglican Green Alternatives

While most of us are onboard with the Reduce, Reuse, Recycle ethic, we still produce a certain amount of carbon (CO2) through our travel, home energy needs, and the food we eat. Learning how to be more conscientious about our ecological footprint helps fight climate change and often leads to healthier ways of life and saving money.

To help Canadian Anglicans calculate their current footprint and seek reductions, Greening Anglican Spaces collaborated to develop a carbon calculator to make this assessment. It’s easy to use and is quite revealing.

Additionally, for the carbon we do use, it is now possible to make a charitable donation to greening activities in the Anglican Church of Canada. This donation will go to lessening the carbon footprint of our religious buildings or towards clean energy like solar installations on churches.

  1. Go to the carbon calculator
  2.  Choose your Province
  3. Input data from travel, home environment or food choice
  4. Click on the relevant offset key and a new screen will display the estimated cost of your emissions.
  5. Finally, click on the Canada Helps button and you will be redirected to a donation window. Contributions are received by Faith and the Common Good on behalf of the Anglican Church of Canada but you must scroll down to the Fund Designation payment options line and select Carbon Offset Fund (Anglican) for your contribution to benefit Anglican projects.
