There are many challenges when ministering in communities in northern Canada. Isolation, long travel distances between communities, a high cost of living, and non-stipendiary ministry are all very common. Ministry in the north is also ministry on the front lines of climate change, of Canada’s suicide crisis, and of meeting the needs of community workers who come north seeking work, far from home.

In 2017, donors like you gave more than $85,000 to Council of the North through Giving with Grace. Without your generous gifts to the Council and to the General Synod, ministry in the north would be significantly weakened. You are supporting communities, strengthening locally-trained clergy, and giving leaders financial support and spiritual renewal. Because of you, Anglicans are meeting the spiritual needs of Canadians from coast to coast to coast.
