A #heartbeatprayer from the Diocese of Ottawa

As a result of our conversations regarding the Heartbeat of the Church, our heartfelt prayer for the church is:

That our faith communities will be a safe haven and sanctuary to those in need and that we will show God’s love to the world through both our words and our actions;

That we will have courage and be given wisdom and creativity to adapt to our ever-changing world, discerning God’s purpose for us at this time and continuing the Anglican tradition in our communities with a spirit of loving hope;

That we will be empowered to try new things, stepping out in faith and trusting that God will be with us;

That our communities of faith will be Spirit-filled, caring for one another and ready to take action to help those beyond our walls;

That we will continue to learn about the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s calls to action and be strengthened to respond with understanding, caring and compassion;

That the Anglican Church will continue to develop as an inclusive community;

That the church will be a model of servant leadership to all those in authority;

That we will care for God’s creation, being mindful of our impact on the environment and encouraging responsible stewardship of the earth and all natural resources;

All this we pray in the name of the One who came to show us the Way,
Jesus Christ, our Strength and our Redeemer.
Amen.
