Lady Edith Drayton Trust: Health care and relocation support for clergy
The Lady Edith Drayton Trust was established in 1950 in memory of Lady Edith Drayton. The trust provides financial support to clergy of the Anglican Church of Canada and their dependants who have extraordinary health care needs or are relocating from ministry in remote areas.
Grants typically range from $500 to $5,000 for extraordinary health care costs, including prescribed therapies and devices for physical, mental and dental health, hearing and vision. Clergy retiring or moving from remote ministry may apply for moving assistance of up to $3,000.
Eligibility generally applies to active and retired clergy and their dependants. Full eligibility criteria, required documentation and application instructions are provided on the grant application. All applications are reviewed confidentially by the Grants Committee, a sub-committee of the Financial Management Committee of the General Synod.
