The Financial Management Standing Committee directs, oversees and supervises the management of the finances of the General Synod. Working with its subcommittees (Investment Subcommittee, Lady Edith Drayton Committee and Audit Committee) and in consultation with the treasurer and key officers, the committee:
- studies the financial needs, resources, problems and opportunities of the Church
- recommends to the Council of the General Synod policies for banking, custodial and investment management
- annually considers a draft budget for recommendation to the Council of the General Synod for approval
- ensures the preparation of annual financial reports for presentation to the Council of the General Synod or the General Synod
- oversees the management, administration and control of the Consolidated Trust Fund
