As the Anglican Church of Canada undergoes transformational change, its national office in Toronto, known as Church House, is also changing so it can effectively carry out its function of connecting, convening and communicating in service to Anglicans. As a result, three staff members have stepped into new roles:
The Ven. Rosalyn Kantlahtant Elm started a new role on July 1 as Director of the new Office of Sacred Circle. She has worked as coordinator in the Indigenous Ministries department since 2024. Archdeacon Elm’s work focuses on strengthening Indigenous episcopal leadership capacity, governance and organizational alignment. She also oversees staff and programs. Archdeacon Elm continues to work with the Presiding Elder and the Anglican Council of Indigenous Peoples.
Dr. Ryan Weston began a new role on July 1 as Senior Advisor, Justice and Advocacy in the Office of the Primate and the General Secretary. He has worked as Lead Animator, Public Witness for Social and Ecological Justice since 2017. Dr. Weston advises Church House leaders on matters of social and ecological justice, reconciliation and advocacy and helps develop relationships with other faith-based organizations working on issues of mutual concern.
The Rev. Canon Dr. Scott Sharman started a new full-time role on Aug. 3 as Senior Advisor, Unity, Faith and Order in the Office of the Primate and the General Secretary. He has worked with the national church in a part-time secondment role as Animator for Ecumenical and Interfaith Relations since 2017. Canon Sharman advises Church House leaders on developing relationships between the Anglican Church and national and international ecumenical and interfaith organizations.
Church House also continues to see natural staff turnover. Archivist Laurel Parson has announced her retirement, with her last day of work on August 31, 2026. Ms. Parson has been the Church’s national archivist since 2019. She worked at Church House as an archives technician from 1990 to 1994 and as assistant archivist from 2003 to 2019.
