Supplementary Eucharistic Prayers, Services of the Word, and Night Prayer
Supplementary Eucharistic Prayers, Services of the Word, and Night Prayer expands the liturgical resources of the Anglican Church of Canada with three supplementary eucharistic prayers, two Services of the Word and an office of Night Prayer (Compline). Supplementary to the Book of Alternative Services (BAS), it offers authorized texts to support Sunday worship, weekday gatherings and daily prayer.
The eucharistic prayers respond to General Synod’s call for rites that reflect a Reformed theological conscience and inclusive language, while the Services of the Word provide simple, Scripture-focused patterns for communities that gather when the eucharist is not celebrated. Night Prayer draws on the ancient tradition of compline to help individuals and congregations commend the day to God at its close.
