We remain in contact with Bishop Kameni and know there are a lot of challenges to face on both sides. Athabasca and Ibba pray for each other on a daily basis. They have lost more than 1000 farms to flooding, and we remember the Cathedral parish west of Ibba as their Cathedral was burned down and people were murdered, including the Dean. On top of the political strife in South Sudan, and COVID-19, it is unlikely we will visit one another anytime soon. In the meantime, we hope to visit Ibba one day, perhaps spend time helping and training clergy, to renew our connections and affections with Bishop Wilson and finally meet Mama Agnus. The bonds we have built will outlast any agreement that was made in the past.

We use our diocesan intercessions at staff prayers every morning and it was good to put faces and places to the names we pray for.

Yet, we are together in prayer, and live-streamed services. They have shown us the pure joy of having so much in their deep faith. That has been their gift to us.
