Biographical Sketch:

The Swiss born Jean Maurice (John) Bonnard (1928-2015) was an Anglican missionary priest who ministered in Indigenous communities in the Diocese of Keewatin such as Big Beaver House, Wunnumin Lake, and Norway House during the late 1950s and 1960s.  He was also Acting Principal at Pelican Lake Residential School at Sioux Lookout (1959-1960) and Principal of La Tuque Residential School at La Tuque, Quebec (1968-1978).

Scope and Content:

Fonds consists of correspondence from Pelican Lake IRS, photos and typescript narratives about La Tuque IRS and its hockey team; and photo journals of three events (2005-2007).  These events include a healing conference in Mistissini, Quebec (2005); the demolition of La Tuque Residence (2006); and an anniversary trip to Kingfisher Lake and Wunnumin Lake (2007).

The 6 DVDs concentrate on the hockey trips overseas in 1974, 1977, 1978; but also include life in La Tuque Student Residence, and the demolition of the La Tuque student residence in 2006.
