Administrative History:

The Diocese of Cariboo was founded in 1914 and covered an area of 65,000 sq. miles in the central interior of British Columbia, with its eastern boundary along the Alberta border.  The Diocese of Cariboo Synod was organized October 28, 1914 at Ashcroft, British Columbia.  The diocese ceased to operate December 31, 2001, and pastoral responsibility for the parishes in the area passed to the Metropolitan of British Columbia and Yukon.

The Diocese of Cariboo had one residential school: St. George’s Indian Residential School, Lytton, BC (N.E.C./ New Westminster 1902-1914; Cariboo 1914-1969)
