Biographical Sketch:

The Ven. Allan Edward Haldenby (1919-2002) was an Anglican priest who served in the Diocese of Algoma (1948-1954), Yukon (1954-1963), and Toronto.  He was the first Archdeacon of the Klondike.  He was married to Grace Hearne with whom he had three daughters.  Grace Haldenby was active in the Yukon Woman’s Auxiliary while living in Dawson City and wrote a brief history of the Anglican Women’s Training College while in Toronto.  Allan Haldenby retired in 1985 and lived in Barrie, Ontario until he died in 2002.  Grace Haldenby died in 2010.

Scope and Content:

Fonds consists of annual reports, historical pamphlets, newsletters, and ephemera.

Fonds contains Diocese of Yukon ephemera, Yukon W.A. annual reports, Historical Society pamphlets, Newsletters from Carcross Residential School (1962-1963), and Shingwauk Residential School Reunion material (2012).
