Biographical Sketch:

Bernice Logan worked at All Saints Indian Residential School in Prince Albert, SK and Shingwauk Indian Residential School in Sault Ste. Marie, ON in the 1950s.  In 1991, Bernice Logan and many former staff and students of Shingwauk Residential School gathered there for a reunion.   In 1993, she published a three volume book entitled, The Teaching Wigwams, with the intention to show the life at the Indian residential schools.  In the course of gathering material for the book Bernice Logan collected copies of hundreds of photographs mostly from former staff taken at the Residential Schools.

Scope and Content:

Fonds consists of photographs, cd-rom of Hay River Centennial Choir singing, and photonegatives.
