Anglican Church of Canada launches online gift guide

The Anglican Church of Canada is pleased to announce the online launch of Acts of Faith: A Guide to Supporting the Ministries of the Anglican Church of Canada. The gift guide is a joint initiative of the departments of Philanthropy and Communications and Information Resources, and represents, within its pages, all the partners and charitable entities within the national church.

“The season of Advent is a wonderful time for Canadian Anglicans to reflect on the needs of people at home and around the world and the impact that faithful gifts can have in growing hope and compassion in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” said Archbishop Fred Hiltz, Primate of the Anglican Church of Canada, adding, “I hope people across the country will enjoy the ease and flexibility of browsing through the guide online and that they will find a particular ministry they would like to support in a very special way.”

The online version of the gift guide can be found by visitingwww.anglican.ca/giftguide. From there, donors can browse the ministries under different categories, add specific gift items to their baskets, personalize e-Cards for friends and family and proceed through a secure online checkout.

“Having a meaningful and interactive presence online is an important step for us if we are to effectively resource the ministries of the church” says Vianney (Sam) Carriere, Interim Executive Director of Philanthropy. “It is important for us to begin to reduce our reliance on print as our donors and supporters are increasingly concerned about the costs and environmental impact of printed materials. Making the gift guide available online will help us to strengthen our ability to interact with and serve donors online.”

Acts of Faith was originally circulated to all households receiving theAnglican Journal in April of this year. Print copies are available, as well as other Advent resources, and can be ordered at no cost through an online portal at www.anglican.ca/giftguide.
