Council of General Synod meets this weekend

Council of General Synod will meet for the first time this triennium at Queen of Apostles retreat centre in Mississauga, Ont., this weekend.

Among the items on the agenda will be consideration of General Synod’s budget for 2008, issues dealing with the Anglican Communion, and consideration of resolutions which General Synod did not have time to deal with at its Winnipeg meeting this summer.

The Council of General Synod, made up of representatives from each of the church’s 30 dioceses, is the Anglican Church of Canada’s chief governing body in between meetings of General Synod. Members are elected at General Synod.

Highlights from each day’s meeting (Friday to Sunday) will be posted to this website.
