Archdeacon Jim Boyles, General Secretary of General Synod, and Arctic diocesan Bishop Andrew Atagotaaluk were honored with honorary degrees at the 137th convocation of St. John’s College in Winnipeg last weekend.
Archdeacon Boyles received an honorary Doctorate of Canon Law, while Bishop Atagotaaluk received an honorary Doctorate of Divinity.
The degrees were conferred by Anglican Bishop Donald Phillips of the diocese of Rupert’s Land. Bishop Phillips is Chancellor of St. John’s College, a residential college on the campus of the University of Manitoba, which specializes in continuing education and preparations for ministry.
