New Coordinator for Dialogue appointed

Rev. Dr. Isaac Kawuki-Mukasa has been appointed coordinator for dialogue: ethics, congregational development and inter-faith relations in the Faith, Worship, and Ministry Department at General Synod.

In this position, Rev. Kawuki-Mukasa will staff the conversations about sexuality that were mandated by General Synod in 2007. He will also foster congregational development networks, serve on the Human Life Task Force, and represent the church at inter-faith dialogues.

Rev. Kawuki-Mukasa currently serves the diocese of Toronto as a consultant in congregational development. He was ordained priest in the Church of Uganda in 1985 and has been in ministry in Canada since 1988, where he has served in the ecumenical shared ministry parishes of Lynn Lake and Snow Lake, Man. (Diocese of Brandon). He also taught at the Centre for Christian Studies, and was a Consultant for Ethnic Ministries for the United Church of Canada.

Rev. Kawuki-Mukasa, who has a Ph.D. from the Toronto School of Theology and an M.Div. from the Nairobi School of Theology, will begin his new position on June 1, 2008. He succeeds Linda Nicholls, recently consecrated Suffragan Bishop in Toronto.
