Primate prays for people of Norway

A message from the Primate, Archbishop Fred Hiltz:

Canadian Anglicans weep with the people of Norway, overwhelmed by grief in the aftermath of terrible attacks on government headquarters and an island retreat centre. We mourn the devastation this has brought to so many families and so many young people who have lost classmates and friends.

As funerals take place and national observances of grieving continue, we pray that the people of this beautiful country will be comforted by all who reach to them in sympathy. Especially do we pray for all pastors who minister in the midst of so much sorrow. We pray that in the chaos of grief, they may know the kindness of God’s love and consolation in Christ.

At this time, I commend this prayer for Norway, produced by the World Council of Churches.

I am,

Sincerely yours,

Fred Hiltz
Archbishop and Primate
