The president of the Primate’s World Relief and Development Fund (PWRDF), Sheila Ritson-Bennett has announced the appointment of Adele Finney to the position of acting executive director of PWRDF starting March 7, 2006.
This half-time contract position is a result of the maternity leave of the Executive Director, Cheryl Curtis, from February 18, 2006 – February 16, 2007.
Adele Finney is well known to The Anglican Church of Canada and to PWRDF. Adele has worked with PWRDF in various capacities since 1997 with the Parish and Diocesan Partnership Program and as Fundraising and Promotions Coordinator. Adele completes her most recent contract with PWRDF as Communications Coordinator on January 31, 2006.
In The Anglican Church of Canada, Adele has written and edited Praying with our Partners for the past two years and prior to that helped to coordinate the Anglican Church’s participation in the Canadian Ecumenical Jubilee Initiative. Adele was a Partner-in-Mission in Malaysia 1982-87.
Adele brings to this position a strong commitment to justice and global partnership along with a skilled approach to working respectfully and effectively with people. “We know you will join us in welcoming Adele to this new role with PWRDF,” said Ms. Ritson-Bennett.
