Betty Livingston dies

The following note has been received from the diocese of Huron.

It is with deep regret and profound sadness that we share the news of the death of Mrs. Betty Livingston on Wednesday June 6th in London. Betty took ill at a dinner following a meeting of General Synod delegates and later died in London hospital. Funeral details are pending at this point and further information will follow. Betty is survived by her four children and grandchildren. We celebrate the life of Betty and the profound impact she had on the church at the local, diocesan, provincial and national levels. Betty had been awarded the Anglican Award of Merit at a recent Council of General Synod meeting. Betty was active at All Saints’, Windsor. She was twice Prolocutor for Provincial Synod, member of the National Administration and Finance and Development Committee, Provincial Synod delegate and General Synod delegate. At the diocesan level she was a Diocesan Council member, former member of Administration and Finance (including past Chair when Huron Church House was being built), on the Human Resources Committee, a Pension Trustee, chair of the Windsor Bishops’ Friends and in 2004 received the Order of Huron. In addition to her very active Church life Betty extensively volunteered in the Windsor community through IODE, Maycourt and so many other organizations. Your prayers for the family and all who mourn her loss are most appreciated.
