Peter Blachford, General Synod Treasurer since June 2004, has resigned effective Dec. 31.
In an announcement sent to Church House staff, to members of the Council of General Synod, and to members of the Financial Management and Development Committee, Archbishop Fred Hiltz, the Primate, said that Mr. Blachford “notified me and the General Secretary of his intention to end his work with the General Synod, citing personal reasons.
“I accepted Peter’s letter of resignation, which is effective Dec. 31, 2008. Peter’s last day at Church House will be Friday, Dec. 19th.
“Peter has served as General Synod Treasurer and Director of the Financial Management and Development Department since June 15, 2004 .
“The General Secretary and I wish to thank Peter for these years of service to the General Synod and the Anglican Church of Canada. We wish him Godspeed as he undertakes a new chapter in his own life.”
