Governance "weeding" to come at General Synod

“Governance is like weeding a garden,” writes David Phillip Jones, chair of the Governance Working Group (GWG), in the latest General Synod web forum post. “It needs to be done, done regularly, and done well.”

At the national meeting this June, the GWG will propose several changes to the Anglican Church of Canada’s governance. On the table will be a new structure for national Indigenous ministry and a smaller Council of General Synod. Read the full article and offer your input. How might these changes help our church?

From June 3 to 11 over 300 delegates will gather in Halifax, N.S. for General Synod, which is held once every three years. The “Setting Sail: Conversations before General Synod” web forum is a place to discuss the major topics that will arise at General Synod-from strategic planning to sexuality. New articles will be posted every one to two weeks leading up to General Synod.
