New Volunteers in Mission website launched

The Anglican Church of Canada’s Volunteers in Mission (VIM) program has launched a new, revamped website.

The new site which includes cosmetic changes and new features, is aimed at “highlighting the stories of each volunteer, putting more information and individual stories of where they are working,” said Brian Bukowski, web manager. “It is more modern and cohesive than before.”

Visitors will now find the VIM site more user-friendly and easier to navigate. One of the major features that will be added soon is an interactive world map indicating the locations of all current and previous volunteers.

“The map will give visitors a picture of how widespread the work of VIM is,” said Mr. Bukowski.

VIM is a program that enables people of different ages, backgrounds, skills and professions to offer their services to partners who wish to have them for one or two years.

It responds to requests for qualified volunteers to fill specific needs identified by partner churches and institutions around the world. Currently there are six volunteers in the field.
