Memorial service for Ann Robertson will be held Dec. 2

Ann Christine Robertson, wife of General Synod staff Archdeacon John Robertson, died suddenly in Kingston, Ont., on Nov. 17. John Robertson is General Synod’s national gift planning officer. Together, Ann and John were known for their hospitality and generosity in and beyond their home diocese of Ontario.

A memorial choral Eucharist will be held on Thurs. Dec. 2, 2010, 2:00 p.m., at the cathedral of St. George, Kingston, Ont. The Right Rev. George Bruce, bishop of Ontario, and the Most. Rev. Fred J. Hiltz, Primate of the Anglican Church of Canada, will preside. The Very Rev. Mary Irwin-Gibson, dean of Ontario and rector of Kingston, will deliver the homily.

Ann, born in 1933, leaves  a son Dr. Anthony W. Tolcher (Marilyn), grandson Graydon, grand-daughters, Meredith, Heather, San Antonio, Texas; grandson Robert (Justine), Kingston, Ont.; grand-daughter Katrina, great-grandson, Gibson, daughter-in-law, Mercia, Victoria, B.C. and close family in Nova Scotia, the U.K. and United States.

In lieu of flowers, the family would be grateful for contributions made in thanksgiving for Ann’s life and ministry to the Anglican Diocese of Ontario Foundation, 90 Johnson St., Kingston, Ont. K7L 1X7.
