Feedback received as part of sexuality discernment process

On Tuesday, June 8, members of General Synod 2010 received a summary of the feedback generated in discernment groups they attended the previous day. The groups, made up of approximately 19 members, met following a “faithful reporting” presentation on June 6 by representatives from committees and commissions regarding their discussions, actions and statements on this topic that has taken place since General Synod 2007.

Each discernment group was facilitated by a synod member and also included a recorder — an individual from outside synod membership. Feedback from the discussions was collated and the report was presented to members by the General Synod’s prolocutor, Canon Robert Falby.

On Wednesday, June 9, General Synod members will meet in the morning in their discernment groups for further discussions on the topic of human sexuality. The feedback from this process will be presented later in the day.

Over 350 delegates and special guests have come from coast to coast to coast across Canada for this nine-day event, which takes place each triennium. Further details and highlights are available online at www.anglican.ca.
