On Jan. 24, the Pension Office Corp. of the Anglican Church of Canada will move from the national office at 80 Hayden Street, Toronto, to a new site one block away. Originally the move was scheduled for Nov. 1, 2008.
The nine full-time and five part-time staff of the Pension Office are moving in order to have more working space. There have been concerns about lack of space in the national office since 2004, when the approximately 100 staff of General Synod relocated to a four-storey office at the base of a condominium.
“This [move] in no way changes the relationship between Church House and the Pension Office,” said General Secretary Michael Pollesel in an earlier statement. Pensions meetings may still be held at 80 Hayden Street, and Judy Robinson, director of Pensions, will continue to meet with Management Team on a monthly basis.
