Anglican Primate Archbishop Andrew Hutchison, will speak on the topic Schism in the Anglican Communion: Is it inevitable? at St. James’ Cathedral, Toronto, on March 16, at 7.30 pm.

A panel discussion will follow. Members of the panel are Michael Valpy, Globe and Mail, religion reporter, Tom J. Reilly, general secretary of the Ontario Conference of Catholic Bishops, and Mary Rowe, public issues consultant/writer. The discussions will be moderated by Dean Douglas Stoute of St. James’ Cathedral.

The event, organized by the cathedral, follows the Primates’ Meeting after which the Canadian and U.S. churches were asked to withdraw their members from the Anglican Consultative Council (ACC) until the next Lambeth Conference of Bishops in 2008.

The Anglican Consultative Council is one of the four instruments of unity in the Anglican Communion.
