A #heartbeatprayer from the Diocese of Toronto

 

We pray that:

  • The worldwide Anglican Church continues to work to become more inclusive to all peoples
  • An effort is made to reach young people through more public avenues
  • We continue to reach out to the elderly, the shut-ins, the sick and the lonely, with loving communication and care
  • Strong leadership remains a priority and clergy and lay people continue to work together joyfully and support one another in all areas of ministry
  • Our faith presence becomes more obvious in the wider community  (e.g. The sesquicentennial at the Skydome in Toronto was given as an example of Anglicans being “out there”)
  • Our church continues ministering to marginalized people and advocating in areas of social justice
  • We accept what we cannot change in this changing world, and agree to disagree instead of the constant discord. We continue to work for unity within the diversity around us and try to find the middle way
  • We continue  to be a welcoming and accepting place for worship and freedom of expression and continue to be loving and forgiving to each other
